The QUICK beats the DILIGENT (Raise the Roof part 2)
I did not expect that the ‘RAISE THE ROOF' Blog Entree will have a second part.
Last Wednesday (10/28/09), as I passed by Mercado Subdivision along Tagaytay-Balibago Highway in Sta Rosa Laguna, I was shocked to see the building with the red roof is now tinted with blue color! The big Coca cola that was beautifully painted on the red roof is now gone.
The up side of this story is I was able to record it before they change the color. If I postponed my picture-taking for couple of weeks more, I would have missed it forever. Truly, the Quick beats the Diligent.

BABY I LIED
It was a stormy Friday night, and my watch read 10 o’clock (12 hours before Storm Ondoy hit Luzon). I normally ride a jeep, or in other times, take a pedicab when I go to my parent’s house in Pasay. But tonight, I decided to walk…
Because I was eyeing for this Kim Chui Ad that I saw posted in one of the Eateries in the main road, I braved the rain and decided to try my “luck” tonight. “Thank God!” I sighed ‘coz the Canteen‘s still open.
(This particular Kim Chui Free Coke Tee Poster is no longer in circulation so it was rare to see one of this still posted in stores. Two guys were minding the store. The owner is out and I’ve learned later that they are the store’s helpers. They were preparing to close the canteen so I have to act fast…)
Before I open my mouth, I have to strategize what to say to make them sympathetic to my “cause”. If I say ‘I collect anything Coke”, will they comprehend or will they care at all? “Maybe not” I reasoned.
Maybe I underestimate them so I told them a “simpler” reason why I want that Poster. I told them I’m a big fan of Kim and they started to ask so many questions and many of them I say “YES” just to make the conversation run smoothly.
To make the long Q & A Portion short, they got this (false) impression: I am married to a pregnant woman that is a big fan of Kim Chui and it would make her happy if I go home tonight with that picture of Kim. I was happy they gave me one of the three posters but I felt bad immediately after, as bad as the weather that very night.
A week passed. I returned to that place to take some pictures for my Blog. The same people were there so I simply said I collect coke items and have to take pictures where I get them. One of the guy asked if what was said the previous night was not accurate. I said yes and he replied with a smile… the very same SMILE Kim was motioning in her poster.
